The Costa Calida means 'the warm coast' and stretches along the Mediterranean beaches of Aquikas to the boundaries of Alicante - a distance of 250km. Here the semi-arid subtropical climate, with an average of 315 days a year of sunshine and average annual sea temperatures of 18 degrees result in the mildest winters in Spain. According to the The World Health Organization the area has one of the healthiest climates in the world.
